
Since 1992 she has focused on higher education and research and realized profound reforms in her university, created many research centers in ITU and gave over 40 invited lectures on different aspects of higher education, research and innovation at international meetings. She is a member of the editorial board of three international scientific journals. She has received several architectural prizes and was awarded Honoris Causa by Carleton University, Canada (2001), Universitatea de Nord Din Baia Mare University, Romania (2002) and Ovidius University of Constantza in Romania (2009). American Institute of Architects (AIA) awarded her “Honorary Fellowship (Hon FAIA) in 2006 and she has been also awarded “Leonardo da Vinci Medal” by SEFI (Société Européenne Pour la Formation Ingénieurs-European Society for Engineering Education) in 2005-2006.

Ahsen Özsoy

Ahsen Özsoy studied architecture at Istanbul Technical University (ITU), received her Master of Architecture and PhD degrees at ITU Faculty of Architecture. She has taught architectural design and elective courses on psychology and housing. She has research studies and publications on topics of housing; squatter settlements; earthquake, housing and woman's role; man-environment studies and architectural education. She has been responsible for the design and interior design of educational and residential projects and has received national architectural awards. Administratively, she served as Director of ITU's Institute of Social Sciences. She is currently Vice Rector of ITU.
Özge Atalay Çelik

Özge Atalay Çelik is a reserach assistant at ITU Housing Research and Education Center and ITU Housing and Earthquake Graduate Programme. She is a sociologist and has a master degree on urban and environmental studies. She is a PhD candiate at ITU Urban and Regional Planning Programme. Her research interests are urbanization, migration, poverty, urban politics, gender and social policies. She has worked as researcher/trainer in many different scientific projects on gender.

Christina Ullenius

Former rector of Karlstad University, Sweden, 1995 - 2006.
Under her leadership as rector from 1995 to 2006, Karlstad University developed into an institution with a strong commitment to serving society through strong profiles in research, education and innovation.
Ullenius is a chemical engineer by training and had a long research and teaching career in organic chemistry at Chalmers University of Technology in gothenburg , 1975 - 1995.
